TWIN BABY SHOWER WITH BOHO DETAILS

These twin baby girls will be so blessed when they enter the world! A pink and gold shower was held to celebrate their upcoming arrival. Bohemian details like feathers, teepees, arrows and ribbon adorned the home. I love the "guest book" and teepee holding the gifts. Special thanks to Virginia's Marshall Arts Studio Photography for sharing the day with us.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL THANK YOU CARD

This week is going to be a hard week for me. My twin girls will graduate from elementary school on Friday. I only have the twins so it's like boom, it's done! I feel very fortunate though that they each had such a great experience at their elementary school--especially since they each have such different personalities and needs. So, I really wanted to be able to express our thank you to the staff.

I have seen a lot of cute thank yous to teachers like this one on Pinterest. I decided to take the idea one step further. We made cards for each girl. You see the cover above. Inside, on the first panel the card is addressed to every teacher (including principals and specials teachers) that the girls have had since kindergarten. On the other side we outlined the many lessons each girl learned during her six years there. (Our elementary school is K-5.)
We'll be passing them out tomorrow and I know each teacher will really appreciate the note.

How do you thank your kids' teachers at the end of the year? Would love to hear!

RED, WHITE AND TRUE BLUE INSPIRATION

What comes to mind when you want to honor and celebrate America? In this styled shoot Fairy Godmother Events used red, white and blue, classic cars and a few vintage accents in this bold tablescape. Whether you're hosting a Memorial Day barbecue or a 4th of July event, you'll find some useful ideas here. I love that the different colors were brought to the table with the bottled drinks and cute utensils. The themed cookies really make an impact. Thank you to California's Brady Rushing for sharing the inspiration.

LAKE HOUSE SUMMER CELEBRATION

My girls finish school at the end of this month so summer for us is really almost here! This styled shoot by high school student, Sarah, for her senior project (you read that right!) brings together all the essentials for the perfect kick-off to summer. A well-packed cooler, delicious food, a blast of color – and of course don't forget the floaties which are necessary for lounging in the water all day! I especially love those fun, bold towels! Mississippi photographer, Jennifer Jones, served as mentor on the project as well as helped to capture the fun. I think Sarah deserves an A+!

FROM MISS TO MRS. BRIDAL SHOWER

Lots of love went into this shower for the bride to be! Event planner, Paula Clement Woods, pulled inspiration from Kate Spade by bringing in black and white stripes and using a shimmery gold and pink color palette. I'm guessing Kate Spade is a favorite of the bride to be who was also wearing black and white stripes! I love the "Pimp Your Cupcake" station and the way they even adorned the fireplace with some gold shimmer. Great attention to detail! Thank you to Florida's Kennedy Grace Photography for sharing the day with us.

DETAIL FILLED ALICE IN WONDERLAND PARTY

Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite party themes--for kids and adults. However, it is a big commitment to pull off, as proven by this party submitted by California photographer That Wandering Light. From the googly eyes on the flowers to the laser cut cupcake toppers to the clock tea cakes - no detail was spared! The colors combining pastels and greenery complemented the beach side setting. After having done a Queen of Hearts party myself (you can see here , here and here) I have a true appreciation of the effort that went into making this party magical! There is lots to look at - enjoy every detail!
